Requirements and Specifications

A project’s Specifications consist of the body of information that should guide the project designers and developers through the work of creating the website. These include the exact Requirements of the client in terms of what they need the site to do.

The Specifications will use the Site Blue Print in order to guage what the end user will need from the site. It will be a broad outline of the base functionality and describe exactly how each area of the website will work. This may be a very detailed document including; the design which will be implemented in the project, as well as details of inter-page relationships.

Specifications are not the be all and end all, however they do provide a structure for the developers to build upon. Of course they have to be ready to adapt to any unforseen circumstances or changes in design specifications that may result in an altering of the original Specifications.

Project specifications are important for determining the quality of the product, as the project comes to an end the developers can make sure they they have met the clients Requirements by refering to their  original Specifications.
