Site Blue Print and Plan
|
When planning and drawing up a Site Blue Print one has to use a number of steps to create a quality product, that at the end of the day is beneficial to both the client and the end user.
Step 1: What is the design spec? In other words what does this client need in the design of this website, what type of clientel are they trying to attract to their website. The Design for a "Teen Magazine" site will be completely different from that of a "Corporate" site. One has to make sure that the clients needs and preferences are known and taken into account from the beginning.
Step 2: Use the previous step to help you decide what the end user needs to get out of this website. They may need to buy products online or they may need to view streaming video or audio files, do they need to educate people?
Step 3: Now that you have a clear idea of what the client needs from this website you can begin to put your ideas on to paper and put out a base outline of the sites individual pages. This is when your design ideas begin to take form and you can map the ideas you have in your head, by creating something tangible. This in essence becomes your Site Blue Print, which will serve as your guide line throughout the design and development process. This plan will help to keep you on track, and can always be used as a reference to make sure that all of the clients needs are met and that the original design spec is being implemented. | ||
